研究者基于 METR 的 228 项任务与 26 个 AI，用样条和项目反应理论重新计算 AI 时间跨度，放宽了任务 AI 难度随人类耗时对数线性增长的假设。拟合样条可视为将人类时间转换为 AI 难度的函数，在 2–30 分钟区间近乎平坦，其余区间接近线性，因此时间跨度从 3 分钟跳到 30 分钟远比从 30 分钟跳到 5 小时容易。
